After only 6 months at Trans International I’ve got a new job at Logan Productions.
This happened completely unexpected.
I was at a coffee shop, working on bubbl.us site and overheard a conversation between a patron and the barrista. The guy said he was looking for somebody with graphic design and computer skills.
I quickly ripped out a piece of paper and wrote my contact information and list of my most important skills. As the guy started to leave, I called him aside and handed him my impromptu “business card”.
Two minutes later I got a phone call. Jim and Beth Logan wanted me to come in for an interview.
The interview went really well and I got an offer, which I took without hesitation.
Not only it’s a much needed pay incr
Fantastic ease, it is also the change of gears in what I will be doing.
Logan Productions does everything from video production and editing, 3d animation and sound to live events. They even have green-screen stage in the “basement” area. I would love to learn the things pertaining to real media production. Here’s my chance.
Fantastic.
Ever wanted to zoom and pan around a movie clip like in Photoshop?
Zoom and Pan ControlNow you can. This sample here demostrates how to use
onMouseWheel, onMouseDown, onMouseUp, onMouseMove
and keypress handlers to create a self contained panel with nested movie clips inside, that allows you to click and drag to pan around the canvas. If you use your mousewheel it will zoom in and out to set zoom levels.
The sample makes use of Tween class to make the transitions smooth.
The hardest part for me to code was zooming logic. If you use your mouse wheel to zoom, the navigation pane zooms about the mouse coordinates, and if you use keyboard (Shift+Up/Down) or zoom slider it will zoom about the center of the screen.
This control can be used to make whole site navigation (if you want your entire site to be in one movie clip, which is considered bad practive by search engine people).
There are also functions built in to pan to a specific movie clip inside the container, centering it on the screen or just making sure it’s visible.
